Who are we?
Nook’s handmade woodcrafts is the passion project of a father and son, with a lot of help and input from our wives! We are truly a family endeavor.
David, the father, is an insurance agent by day, an avid golfer in his free time, and a skilled woodworker at all other times. He has built out his woodshop over the last 20 years and spent countless hours creating high-quality pieces as gifts for family and friends.
Chris, the son, is sort of a jack-of-many-trades having spent a decade in creative design, as well as working in the film industry, retail and service industry management, and live event production. Over the years he has enjoyed DIY and small construction projects, and working and learning alongside his dad in the woodshop.
How did we start?
Chris was in between jobs and looking for what was next in life, so we decided to start up our own woodworking business. With David’s decades in woodworking and Chris’ creative background, we thought we should work together to create high-quality and creative woodcrafts and build on what we have already been doing for years.
What’s in a name?
Nook, pronounced nük, was the nickname given to our dad and grandpa. He instilled in both of us a strong work ethic and taught us to take pride in what we do. We want to honor him and his legacy as we work hard to create woodcrafts we are proud of.
